By far, Lombardy's most famous cheese originating in the 10th century in the town of Gorgonzola near Milan. Il Villaggio 3-month aged Gorgonzola Dolce (sweet) is a younger, milder, wetter and whiter version of aged Gorgonzola. It is an elegant cheese whose supple white paste and light-green veining is sure to please those less appreciative of the sharpness of traditional blue veined cheeses.

You're reviewing: GORGONZOLA DOLCE

Muenster is an American cheese derived from an English translation of Munster, a city in Germany. Muenster cheese is a smooth textured cheese with a white interior and orange rind, derived from vegetable coloring. This washed-rind cheese is made from cows' milk. It usually has a very mild flavor and in some cases, when properly aged, it can develop a strong flavor with a pungent aroma. This cheese is commonly served as an appetizer and because it melts well, it is also often used in dishes such as grilled cheese sandwiches, tuna melts, and cheeseburgers. Serve with a glass of Riesling, Dolcetto or Barbera.
